Stupid Question

:patHey Junkie, was your trip going downhill? There is something amiss here. My last trip of about 2400 miles I avg around 24mpg, and I cruise right at 80 in 6th gear. My rpm's are right where yours show. I use nothing but premium gas. Now this included 4 times on the Dragon, and a lot of mountain travel on the interstate, but you are showing 10 more miles to the gallon. What gives?;shrug:beer
Cruse set on 79 most of the time, I-40 W to I-24 W to I-64 W to I-70 W to US 63 N to Kirksville Mo!! Several trips to Kansas City from Kirksville to see my dad in the Hospital and back Home!! Maybe 20-25 miles in town driving!! I've always got 32-35 on the road, ever since I got the car!!:upthumbs

Yep, X 2 :beer!! I've been to Mt Vernon many times before!! Back in the Early and Mid 70's I was in a Disco Band that played at a Club called "The Warehouse" (If I remember right)about every 6-8 weeks or so!! They had us a house to stay in while we were there for a week! We Had a "Very Large Time"!!!:D:D:D But anyway,Dad is doing fine now,but I had my doubts when I first got there. He looked like Hell warmed over!!:puke:puke But he's been moved to the St Luke's rehab in Smithville Mo. (N. KC) now and is doing allot better. They think he will be able to come home by Dec! He had a heart attack after some other complications at the hospital in Kirksville and my brother and sister had him flown to N. KC where my sister in-law works rather than Colombia to make it easier on mom so she could stay at my brothers house close to the hospital!!:upthumbs Thanks for the Concern!!

PS. I printed off your #'s for next trip,so I would edit your phone #'s out so you don't get a bunch of telemarketers calling!!:beer :cool

:patGlad to hear your dad is doing better, and thanks for the advice. I never gave that a thought. Of course I am supposed to be on the no call list, but you know how that one is. :crazy:beer

1700 rpm at 79 mph. 6 speeds must be nice! c5havin. remember the wave!

2009 cadillac cts-v to have zr1 like engine and 550 hp

I hope that GM has something up their sleve for the 2009 ZO6 because this is a slap in the face to every vette owner that owns a Z,especially a C6 type. Check corvette magazine,pg.6. L.Lake

Linda, I have not seen or read the article you spoke about, But why is it so offensive to regular corvette owners? I live just outside Philadelphia, and I use Sunoco 91, but have in a pinch used 87. I never noticed any pinging but as i say, I use 91 almost all the time. Oddly, my 2003 doesn't run any better on 93 than it does on 91. My wife has a 84 crossfire and has used 85 or 87 since we got the car fifteen years ago, and it pings only once in a while. But I should mention, here in Tinicum PA, we're about fifty feet above sea level I think. Atlantic city is 55 miles from here. My 2003 does run smoother on Sunoco 91 than any other fuel around here.

I wonder what the fuel situation is going to be in say five years from now? Are we going to have to use ethanol at 85 octane with a booster or something like that. the new CAFA regulations are coming?

Quote from LS1 manual.

"Use premium unleaded gaoliine of 91 or higher octane rating for best performance. You may use middle grade or regular unleaded gasolines, but your vehicle may not accelerate as well"
Hi i have only used shell 93 octane in my 1998 vert and 0 issues my buddy tried 87 mobile and when he punched it i could here the pinging sounded like it was coming apart but then again i would not use mobile in any of cars or truck just my 2 cents worth

I run mid grade in my 04 ZO6 around town and did the same in my LT4 engined C4 with no problems. I haven't done a WFO run on mid grade but I suspect the knock police would be out in force.:L

Whoa...where'd you find that relic?

It was a wonderful story, and I can assure you a lot of folks got enjoyment on the very well detailed a discription of the internals of the ZR-1 after it had been tested time after time by different journalists? not to mention the "Assembly"?. . . by Mercury Marine. I mentioned it to Ronnie Hartman when I spoke to her at Corvettes at Carlisle a few years ago. I have to wonder if this 'New" upcoming ZR-1 is going to be as interesting.

I have always used Chevron premium or Amoco premium and haven't had any problems yet...:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Actually, as long as your buying your gas from a Top Tier retailer, you shouldn't have any problem.
