Hello

I got the engine out, and im now ready to do my rebuild. So its time to shop from summit ( or other places ). I really need som feedback from you, as its not easy to change the parts when it arrives to sweden.
Im going to reuse the crank ( if it looks good ), rods with new bolts, hyper pistons etc etc..
My plan is rebuild my engine using the products below, all from summit with the part number on the left, please give some feedback.

FEM-CSMHP762-300 rebuild kit
ARP-134-6003 arp rod bolts
TFS-30400006 trick flow heads
ARP-134-5001 main bolt kit
ARP-100-9902 lube
CLO-9-3145 cam gear/chain
FLU-716242 damper

I already have the lt1intake conversion from John. Hooker headers. 1,6 rockers.
The block is cleaned and drilled 0.30.
The entire rotating assembly is going to be rebalanced.
Some stuff I dident found on summit is: ( could you help ? ).
ARP head bolts.
Valve covers that fit my 1,6 rockers
What kind of pushrods do I need?
A good head gasget that give me a good quense effect.
etc..

I hope you can give some tips.

Thanks..

I recommend the head stud kit instead of bolts...they line up your gasket and provide a more accurate torque setting Part # ARP-134-4001...go with the fel-pro blue head gaskets and Comp cams pushrods..i deal w/Summit exclusively; friendly and knowledgable and they ship parts the same day...give em a call...good luck and keep us posted ! Sounds like speed parts are rare in Sweden?? :w

I don't see a cam in there :confused Checked your profile and there's no info on your car. I'm assuming it's an 87 + standard shift. You're this far, ya oughta get a cam. :beer

What made you decide on the TFS heads? I am pretty sure that the TFS heads are 64cc chamber where as your stock L98 heads are 58cc. If I remember right you have a 1991 so stock it is 10.25:1 compression, if you use all of the stock rotating assembly, your compression with the TFS heads will be around 9.25:1 compression.

I think you will want new pistons. Also I think you have the LT4 hotcam right? are you keeping that or swapping it as well?

hello, thanks for the tips.

My car is a 1991 6spd. Im going to use the hotcam with 1,6 rrs.
If you look at the kit from sumit ( FEM-CSMHP762-300 ), you can se that i chose hyperxxx pistons with a comp ratio of 9.7:1 with 64cc heads, to smal??.
Trick flow has great price, and has showed good preformace gains on several chevy magazine.

Thanks

THere is a guy from Norway named Johan on here, he may be able to steer you right parts wise even though he runs a C3. Look him up...

Well, just keep in mind you will have less compression then stock, which is not a bad thing, depending on the goals you want. if you are going to add nitrous or a power adder the 9.7:1 will be fine. Also 89-older had 9.5:1 compression

ok. My goal is 430 at the crank. I hope I can acive that..
