Hello

I replaced the bushings on the rod 2 times on my drivers side visor, still is very loose

and falls down while driving. when I put it together and push it in it pushes very hard.

When it is seated and the c clip installed it is very loose.

Any suggestions?

There is a piece that pops in on top of the rod... I had to use a small socket to pop it into place.... When I get home on Monday I'll post a picture to show you

OK so this looking down at it...there is a spring under the washer...it just snaps onto the top of the visor...
This is on my '81,yours should be the same...
I found this on corvette central's website...
the bushings go around the arm,the spring then the washer gets popped on to hold it all together..
did mine several years ago and is still holding!!!

Thanks for the pics.

The part with the spring in is for horizontal movement,from windshield to side window.

Thank is very tight and works fine.

The plastic spacers on the rod is for vertical....( up and down)...that is what doesn't tighten up.

I put the spacers on the rod and pushed them in. They go in hard but when seated get very loose.

I tried putting the spacers in first and I could not get the rod in.

Anymore ideas?

OK

I looked at another thread.

Teflon tape works,but it still isn't like I think it should be.

It does stay up though...A couple wraps of teflon tape.

the spring pushes down on the plastic halves
the washer then gets pushed in by force to hold it all together.
