I recently installed a new headliner and now i have the new sun visors to go with it. Can anyone give me any advice on the removal of the old sun visors? I believe it is: Targa top off, rear view mirror off, trim off which i believe has 4 screws. I am having a time with the trim and don't want to break it. thanks, gary

If you're referring to a curved black plastic trim piece. It can be worked/pried off after the screws are removed. I had to use a 1/4" screwdriver to help the pry. Then there's a retaining nut over a flat spring washer that has teeth in its center hole, it holds a big spring in place. THE DAMN WASHER WILL FLY AWAY AS YOU PRY IT OFF. Put some duct tape on it as you pry that off, the tape should be over the ws header so it can't fly into another dmension. I lost both of mine and bought others from ebay. When you install, use a socket to press the trick washer down onto the threaded visor piece compressing that sping, it's teeth will keep it in place while you start the nut and then crank it down to taste. If you have lighted mirrors they'll be a PITA to reconnect, you can pull them off OK, but they need to be pressed back on. I got the pass one connected, I never use the driver one anyway. Phooey on it.

thanks

Thanks for the reply.. these sun visors that i purchased don't have any arms on them. They look like they will slide over the existing arms after i remove the old ones that are nicotine cream colored. The feller that had the car before me was a pretty heavy smoker.
I allready have the new headliner installed and if i can get these visors to work the interior will be all new again. Thanks for the help and have a good night. Gary :cool

Oh you are lucky you don't have to mess around with removing/installing the entire visor assembly. It's not complex, just one of those deals that needs 4 hands with space for only one. You know what I mean. Good luck.
