Does anybody know where I can get a front sunshield for my '95 coupe without paying $50 + shipping for it? Standard sizes, cut-to-fit perhaps?

Thanks, Bob

sunshield

well,i bought one off a guy for 30 bucks shipped,and then saw a set in ecklers,i think,for 21 something plus shipping.ck.zip-products,ecklers,etc.

they have a standard sunshield at costco that works well, i have it actually comes with a front and 2 door shields for 6.99!!!

Thanks All

Yeah, I see them now. There seems to be a high end unit (possibly by Covercraft) which folds accordian style, but the prices run from $45 up.

I do see the guy on eBay, but I am also going to check at the local stores for a generic.

Thanks much.

I will probably get some additional help if I get my windows tinted - its a common thing here in the South, but I don't like the effect on night driving.

Thanks, Bob

Jeff, I looked there on eBay, but didn't see any way to specify what make/model - are they all the same - I wouldn't think one size would fit c3,c3,c5 ??

Bob,
I emailed the seller & told him mine was a '96. He said it would fit...and fit well.
So I ordered it. What can I say, I'm easy! :L

Hmmm. There may be an interesting (well, a bit) story there. I have a roll-up shade for my other car, made by Canvasworks in Sunnyvale CA. The guy that you bought from is also in Sunnyvale! But when I looked at the Canvasworks website, it very distinctly shows different models for C3, C4, C5, etc.

I also emailed him - let's see what he says.

BTW, the Canvasworks price was like $35 with $9 ship to here, east coast.

I placed the order. The guy sent me a couple of emails explaining that I did correctly order the model for my Vette. He is also in Arizona, but the ship from in the eBay listing was Sunnyvale, so it's very possible that he get them from Canvasworks - but at a better price.

He says it will ship in 2 days UPS ground - unfortunately a long time here to the east coast.

I think we did good, we'll see. :)

I just got the email saying it was shipped, and the email was in fact from Canvasworks!

I like the shade for my other car - it seems to work fairly well, and I like the roll-up kind better than the accordion type - easier to put on, I think.

Yeah, I got the same email Bob and I noticed the Canvasworks name & recalled your post. My biggest concern is the fit. I hope that it covers the entire windshield (from bottom to top/no sun on dash). Heck, it's 112* here & it's only June! :eek Of course, I cover the car (as well as using my ill-fitting sunshield) if I park it for any length of time. I have a car cover that came w/ our BMW (that actually is quite good & fits fairly well) that I use (on the Vette) year round for any outdoor (extended-time) parking. The BMW suffers I suppose but getting Lisa to put the cover on every time she parks is, well...not gonna happen. :L

The one I have covers very well, so hopefully this one will too. I am also going to use my rear hatch raiser thing to let a little air in that way - it seems pretty safe as the hatch is still locked and it would be very difficult to thread something in to open the door from there!

My wife would never put a cover on a car either - I think they

just

don't

understand!

Bob,

Mine was delivered today. What a fit! It is exactly what I was after. You will love it!

K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Target, AutoZone, Discount Auto Parts, O'Reilly's Auto Parts, J.C. Whitney..... Your Vette is red, so buy a red one. Problem solved. If you're feeling artistic, stencil your emblem on the thing. Tape off the different sections and grab your corresponding cans of auto paint and have at it.

I didn't want generic - have used those in the past with minimal success. The Canvasworks ones (see above posts) really fit for not much more.

Thanks, BOb

Got mine today after a short delay due to incorrect shipping address. Seems nice - fits well. Very similar to the one I already had for my other car. Recommended.
