In my very short time as a member of the C.A.C, I have enjoyed so much free yet very valuable advice from the members here that I just authorized PayPal to contribute $25.00 to this site to become a "Supporting Member".

NOT because I want to have any special status, but rather, because the help and advice that I get from the members of the C.A.C is of great value to me and I want to do whatever I can do to ensure that the C.A.C will always be there for folks like us.

In my view, 25 bucks is a very small price to pay for access to the wealth of knowledge this site gives us free access to. I urge all of you who value this gold mine of Corvette help and information center to consider doing what I have done. Let's face it, 25 bucks is a very small price to pay to ensure that the C.A.C will always be there to allow us to share our knowledge, or in my case, the lack of knowledge that I cheerfully admit to...James

I'm pleased to see you have been so successful in your short time here at CAC. Your supporting membership is appreciated by all here as well. I carried that status before I was promoted to moderator. I will say that either status is an honor.

:w

Thank you James!

I'm glad that the site has been helpful to you and many of the members here. That's exactly why I started the CAC nearly 10 years ago.

I actually can't believe it's been 10 years. :eek

I also have just become a supporting member and it's well worth every penny. My 84 has never run so well with all the helpful information from this site Thanks CAC. :grouphug: :beer :thumb

What will insure that advertisers continue sponsorship is site traffic, MORE than sales from members.

The best way to increase site traffic is pictures of work - not your wheels and tires, not your car's fresh wash, but dirty, broken stuff, along with DTC's, gettin' shot (pics), and diagnosed, and fixed.

THAT will increase site traffic, which increases adspace value, AND, increase the value of your vette.

Actually, the photo threads have generated an amazing amount of traffic and participation, Schrade.

These are just a few:

C3 photo thread - 542 posts - viewed 54,785 times.

C4 photo thread - 512 posts - viewed 40,174 times.

C5 photo thread - 343 posts - viewed 26,467 times.

C6 photo thread - 126 posts - viewed 11,667 times.

Tires and wheels thread - 500 posts - viewed 44,064 times.

We think we've got something for everyone. :thumb

And we appreciate those who show their appreciation by becoming a Supporting Member!

Thanks James!

How come more people like to look at tires than C6's? Me thinks C6's are not all that interesting to look at.

Think of it this way... whether you like the C6 or not, it has tires, just like all of the generations. Does that explain why there's more views on tires than C6s (or C5s or C4s)? C3s get the most views because they're so beautiful... :D

I freely admit my bias, Dwayne... and, yes, I still have my beastie... :)

I know that my supporting membership dues are about to be renewed. Do I have to do it or will it be like the past two years when the dues were taken paid out of my pay pal account without me doing anything? Also, this is the first year that we were not able to include the dues as part of Cruise Fest. I don't want the dues to lapse as I too want to continue my support. Whatever became of the life time membership idea? Hope one of the moderators or Rob will respond.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I am a new member after purchasing my first vette and this site and it's members have already been unbelievably helpful. So I too just now became a supporting member for all the same reasons. TX Dave

And opinions are like farts in the wind....everyone has one.

Hi Barrett,

If you signed on via PayPal, it will automatically renew. If you sent a check, you'll have to send another one if you want to.

Hey Rob,

If I was a supporting Member, but am now part of the administration will it still automatically deduct via PayPal?

Hi Rob, yes I used Pay Pal the last two years, so I assume that it will renew in September 2009. I will watch my e-mails to confirm when the payment is made. If for some reason Pay Pal does not make a payment, I will re-authorize Pay Pal. Keep up the good work and I personally think you added some great moderators to go with the existing moderators. No wonder the CAC site is the best there is.

If you go into User CP, then go into paid subscriptions. At the top should show your renewal date, and expiry date.

Hmmmm... when I checked, it looked as though my subscription had lapsed. :ugh I thought it was on automatic renewal too. It's easy to overlook since supporting member doesn't show under my username. Anyway, it's paid now. :D

Thanks for the reminder guys!
