Tonight was my first night with my 2004 base Corvette in the rain I have had an air intake system put on and everything else is stock 25000 miles and when I was driving home I had a hesitation and surging when I was under power at about 2500 RPM and beyond. I tried taking active handling off and tis did not help. This is the first time this has happened. When I opened the throttle it felt as if the car would not downshift. When driving below 2500 rpm and after car warmed up it drove ok and I made it home but every time I tried to accelerate it would do it again. Please help Thanks

The surging and hesitation...was it happening prior to installing the air intake kit?

What brand of AIS did you install?

Did you do a quick check of the engine to see if any vacuum hoses were left disconnected?

It only started in the rain and after the install of the air intake. This morning no problem. My mechanic is checking for a possible electric problem. The head lights have been flickering. He is also checking the ground for corrosion. I think something may have gotten wet. We are also checking the MAF.

Always, always pull your codes to see if anything is there and post. Do it while the car is still running so we know what is C or H.
