Has anyone had to replace the suspension knuckle at the rear suspension. This is the piece that holds the bottom of the shock. It weights about 11 lbs and appears to be cast aluminum. Is it a hard Job and can a home mechanic do this? Any help would be appreciated. The car is a 91 Convertible.

Not a hard job,a DYS'r can handle it!! :thumb

Whats wrong with yours, there purdy tough to bend or break!!;shrug

Less than a hour with a floor jack , socket set and some spanners.
Spray some WD40 on the bolts the night before especially the 4 holding the uni caps

Thanks Guys, My left rear knuckle is bent right where the shock bolts on. Dont know how it happend, may have hit a Minnesota pothole. Found the damage when I had new tires put on the rear of the Vette. Now am going to put all new shocks on. THe originals have 120000 miles and are leaking so time to replace.
