You will need adapters to fit late model C4 rims on an '87 or older.

The early C4 wheels have an offset of 32 to 38 mm while the late C4 offset is 56 mm. The late C4 wheels will sit too far under the early C4.
MidAmerica and others sell spacers or adapter to put the late C4 wheel in the right place under an early C4.
