SYS in digital dash

changed wiring so that the windows work w/out the key.10ga wire comes directly from battery to 30 amp breaker. noticed tonite that when the dash is in the gauges,voltmeter mode,the door open so the interior lites are on,and i rotate up the dimmer switch to 'interior lites on' position, the volt numbers change to 'SYS'. is this normal? have 14.2 volts otherwise.

It happened to me a month ago, I changed the battery and the "SYS"went away.

same here - happened first year I had my 96 (which was only a few years ago)
factory Delco finally gave up the ghost..
new battery and all has been smooth!
