ok i have one last problem to complete the work ive been doing on my new 95 vette. there is a sys message coming up in the place where the gas mileage and trip odometer and all that good stuff is supposed to be by the speedometer. i had someone put a computer on the car and ran some test and they said everything was perfect. the only problem is that the odometer and all the good stuff doesnt work because of the message being displayed. any thoughts? oh yea and i still have the factory radio

SYS is voltage out of specs. Clean your terminals and connections on the battery. When you disconnect them it will reset. If you have it later it's probably the battery going dim. It should not influence odometer or anything else. It ought to flash a few times and stop, then flash again.

My SYS was aftermarket radio resistor fix. Good luck. Post results and we'll go from there. Welcome to the playground. You will love your C4.

the message blinks 3 times and goes away and then does it again. i tried to reconnect the battery its a no go

Got to an auto parts place or Sears and have them check your battery. If it's new to you I would throw a fresh one in there anyhow. That usually fixes the SYS Syndrome.

but the trip odometer doesnt work or fuel mileage because its in the place where it is displayed. i have already checked the battery. there has got to be another reason for the sys

ok i have read all the threads pertaining to this problem and most of them point to the battery but of course mine does not seem to be the battery or alternator. will my odometer still work with this problem because it doesnt? this car is turning into my nightmare. i had someone run the computer on it and they said that it says the car is perfect and checked the history and they said someone must of deleted it. how can i test to see if the computer is bad or too see what ccm codes it could be throwing. the car runs great though i dont understand?

You can check for CCM codes by grounding pins 12 to 4 on the DLC & then turning the ignition "on", but donot start. Go to c4vettes.com for info on how to do this if your not familiar with the procedure. Advise what you come with or if you are having problems with the procedure.

that site doesnt show how to do 95 i believe. if you can show me how that would be great

Sent you a PM...did you get it? Seems to be some problem transmitting?

yes i got the message, can you tell what pins to connect the wire too

Take a deep breath....

You don't have a big problem man. I heartily suggest a new battery before you stress out. A bad cell will trip the SYS. Your car is 10 years old. And you said you just got it.This is no nightmare my friend, just part of the deal.

Do your radio lights dim down with the rheostat around the headlight switch?

The odometer is on the bottom of the LCD, and changes to trip and back again. SYS is on the left where gas mileage and fuel stuff, temps etc. are located. I don't think that is related.

Is there a local vette shop around there? I can PM a phone number to the guru if all else fails.

Make friends with somebody there. Or find out if anybody on the CAC is close to help you. I just spent $600 on brake lights! I can fix most anything but this one stumped me and 2 Chevy dealers. Some folks here have watched that damn message for months. This is what it's all about. And welcome once again.

Pins 12 & 4. The CCM is module 1 on the speedo display. Do you want the scans? If so, I need your e-mail.

ya but when you buy a exspensive car you dont want a crap load of problems. the sys is the only thing by the speedometer the mileage and odometer does not show or anything..

Ok Good News.. I Took The Dash Apart Looking At The Trip Computer To See If It Was Even Plugged In And Low And Behold It Wasnt So I Plugged It In And Sys Seems To Be Off And Trip Working Fine I Think, Havent Drove It Yet But I Hope So.
