I am considering having my t-tops reconditioned or replaced with new ones. Would it be in my best interest to keep the original t-tops?
Just one more: What importance do the numbers on the glass have?
Thanks.

if you have intentions of getting your vette ncrs.inspected then I would say Yes to keep your original t-tops that way you HAVE THEM FOR IT

the numbers on the glass are the tint and the codes for the dates of them

Thanks for the info.

Can you interpret these code numbers on the glass?
AS3 2613
DOT18 M89.6

AS3 is the designation for the glass used in the roof panels, the M89.6 usually refers to the tint ..the other numbers I don't know..

If you want to recondition them, take it from me, don't do it yourself! Have a pro do. I royally screwed mine up! I see you are in NJ. If it isn't too far of a ride, County Corvette in West Chester, PA can do it for you. They are pricey, but they do great work!

For anyone with the same concerns about their T-Tops, I was able to find out that the following codes:
PPG Safety Solarcool
Solid Tempered Coated
AS3 2613
DOT 18 M89.6
are from aftermarket T-Tops that can be purchased from Eckler's or Mid-America for about $1100.

If you are looking for OEM Codes, you should have LOF Glass. A complete explanation can be found in "Corvette by the Numbers" by Alan L. Cohen, which I strongly recommend for any essential parts reference.

Thanks for you help.
