Have a 1976 and the tach is not working. Had the dash apart for other repairs so I thought I would replace the tach. After instakkibg the new tach it still does not work. Three wires on back of tach where do they go? Looks like one goes to ground, looking at the wiring diagram and I'm confused. Where do the other two go. Coming off the the distributor, I have a red and a brown. The red is hot with key on, I'm assuming thats power in. and the brown sends the signal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JOhn

hello, yes, the red is the positive(key on power) . black is for ground. and the brown (or sometimes white) is for the signal from the distributor.

if you put a new circuit board it will have the plus /minus/ dist marked on the board. also remember to reset the needle per directions
