Tail lights and tooth paste??

Good evening folks! While surfing the channels the other day, saw afew minutes of a Two Guy's Garage show on Speed. Sam was inspecting an '80s vintage T-bird that a friend had bought. He noted that the plastic over the headlights was hazed. He called McBride over to watch as he cleaned off the haze after rubbing the surface with tooth paste. Sure looked alot brighter! Just wondered it any of you had tried Colgate (?) on your hazy tail lights.
I might give it a try, but thought I'd check with you first.

That idea has been around for years. It works well as there is a light abrasive in most tooth paste.

Toothpaste has a very fine grit and can be used as a polishing compound.
