Well, I was driving home at night this past friday in stealth mode. I was on the highway with no tail lights and I had no idea. I was flagged down by a 'rustanger'. He told me that my brake lights came on when I braked, but when I was driving (at 85 mph) I was just a dark object on the highway.
I haven't investigated yet. But I was hoping for suggestions. Possibly a relay, or loose wiring?
Thanks

same thing happened to me about 6 months ago except, i was pulled over by the highway patrol. i did not realize that the information panel lights were out on my dash and apparently, they are wired in the circuit that controls the back tail lights also.

i found the bad FUSE at roadside and replaced it with a circuir breaker style fuse so that it shouldn;tr happen again. so, if your car is wired similarly like mine, check the fuses......

I haven't had a chance to take a peek yet but, hopefully on my lunchbreak I can. Wow, that would be nice if it were only that!

It's the same fuse on the '84; a 10A, from recall.

Dash lights and tail lights on same fuse

Most Chevys have been wired that way for years. Sneaky way to know when the tail lights aren't working. Should have been publicized.

Now all you have to do is figure out why the fuse blew. ;)
