Anyone have any suggestions for removing the entire tail light assembly? I was thinking that there may be a way from the inside? The book mentions being able to get to the power antenna from there.

Nut drivers, a beer, an evening and lots and lots of patience. I have removed mine and performed maintenance on them and as long as I didn't get in a hurry it wasn't too bad. The nut are accesible from the bottom rear of the car but they are buried. It is blind and tight but doable.

The other option is to have some 11 year old stick his arm up there since there arms are skinny.

You might try removing the license plate (and maybe backup lights) and reaching in with a nut driver. Remove the inner one first to get to the outer.

I was able to remove the muffler and get the first one out from the bottom. The license plate works too.
