Tape player question

The guy before me decided to put some dumbass newer pioneer tape player in in my 80 and got rid of the old one. I want to keep the stock look inside my vette. So my question is if I buy one of those stock Tape players for Mid America do I have to buy a different bezel for it to fit in or will it cover the whole bottom section and all I have to do is remove the cover? Never taken it apart yet so im not sure of the whole gauge bezel is one... Looks like each one comes out with a couple of screws.

Not sure what you're asking. All the aftermarktet providers carry stereos which will fit the dash without having to cut the cluster. That's what you want. Has the previous owner already cut the cluster? If so, I would order a replacement cluster bezel (stock) and one of the aftermarket unit which will fit the bezel without cutting.

If bubba cut yours up you will have to buy a new bezel before and buy the type of radio you are talking about.Sorry it's not what you wanted to hear but I know.I've got an 82 CE that was at least professionaly upgraded.I've got the orginal AM/FM 8track CB radio.You wanna know who much that's gonna cost me for just a CE bezel?$$$$$.Man I can't talk anymore......

There should be an additional commandment: Thou Shalt Not Cut An Original Bezel
