I was just looking around at some Vette adds and there was a Vette that had the color (teal looking) and in the description he said that it was "teal green". I was then looking up the stock colors of Vettes in '77 and I didn't see a color pertaining to teal. I was just curious, is there a color (with a name that I can't put a color to :D) that resembles teal in the year '77?

Thanks! :D

While it may be a stock corvette color for a late model vette there is not a prayer of it being stock on a 77 ......no greens of any sort in 77

That's what I thought. So if I was to e-mail/call this guy about his Vette because there might be a possible chance that I'm looking at it to purchase, what would I want to say? Maybe something about his paint job not being stock? Wouldn't that affect the price to my benefit?

Thanks! :D

Paint is a huge point of contention ..... The fade teal was great for about 5 mins then everyone got tired of it. I would try to talk him down mostly because to do a vette right is really expensive and to change colors even more so. I would have him give you the original paint code it should be on the drivers door jam panel. If you like that color use that as a bargaining chip. If the paint is good you can always drive it until you save up the $$ to buy the correct color.

Okay, I'm going to try to contact him.

It's a pretty nice Vette! He says there's only 4k miles on it, it's a 350/350 I think. 4 speed. T-tops (glass). $8000. Not bad.

TR,

That means the engine is either modded or not original as you could only get 180hp(L-48) or 210(L-82) in 77. If it isn't the original engine, that gives you a little more bargaining power even if you don't care about the engine. Ask him what kind of mods the engine has. Also, glass roof panels weren't offered until 78; not that it's a problem, glass looks better IMHO.

Wow. This Vette is far from being stock. I will definitely mention all of this if/when I talk to him. I would prefer to have the original block. That's pretty much one of the only things I would definitely prefer as far as stock items go.
