Technical question about Holley 2300 vacuum secondary carbs

As I understand it, the secondaries on any Holley four barrel carb are actuated by a vacuum signal from the primary venturi, augmented by an increasing vacuum signal from the secondary venturi as the the secondary throttle plate opens. The 2300 is the front half of a 4150/4160.

Each 2300 is tied together by a vacuum hose. Is the purpose of that vacuum hose to take the vacuum signal from the primary (center carb) and send it to the secondaries (both end carbs)?

Yes, it is - those hoses take the venturi vacuum signal from the center carb to the end carb opening diaphragms. :)
