Teflon Tape

Will Teflon tape work when installing 90* bypass and heater hose nipple fittings to the water pump? If not, what to use, if anything?

It'll work but grease works better.

My preference is teflon pipe thread compound.

I use orange RTV. Any that oozes out closely matches the Chevy orange paint on the water pump.
