I have a 1976 corvette, with a different engine. The sending unit that is in the engine has the wrong resistance, so the gauge is off, by over 100 degrees. I went to the local shop and got a 1976 corvette sending unit, which reads correctly (tested with boiling water), but is threaded for 1/2, and my hole is only 3/8 thread. does any one know of sending unit that has 72-88 ohms at 220 degrees F and fits a 3/8 18nptf hole? And ideas would be great, I have looked at a universal unit, but not resistance was given, and it would take 5 day to get it here, and I would call the company but today is a holiday, yet I am at school. and help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Drew

I went through this problem several years ago with no luck. All the sensors with the correct 3/8 pipe thread had much higher resistance. Ended up using a reducer set-up.
Not pretty but it worked. If you find an exact replacement let my know...

I am going to try Niehoff Ignition GA56 from checker auto it is crossed with a 76 vette and is universal in sizes, I will tell you how it works, but I have to wait 5 days for it to come in, but I don't have to pay shipping. so we will see.
