Can anyone tell me if you can see the temperature door through the blower motor opening. My climate control isnt throwing any codes, but on mode 24 it is showing me "128" which the manual says is the default mode which puts the door in the neutral position. Then says to pull the whole blower motor a/c control box to check for obstructions, then check free play.I REALLY dont want to have to pull the entire box to do that.Any ideas?Maybe I misinterpreted the manual? If I do have to pull the box,It looks as though the a/c lines have to be taken loose, which will also mean a recharge.....:mad :hb :r What a PITA!Anyway, any input?(oh,yeah, the problem is,it blows cold air for a second or two, then goes to hot air.The pump clutch does cycle, and it blows out all the proper vents,No blinking lights on the controller, tested OK for programmer.(750 bucks!OMG!)Thanks yall.:w

Well Im having the opposite problem with my 86. It will not blow hot air at all, but blows cold just fine. GM says that this actuator is discontiuned. I was able to remove this actuator by using 1/4" swivel and 7mm socket. Wasnt easy and a few skinned knuckles but much better than dissassembling the entire dash to get to it. Also I had no codes (00)

Which actuator are you speaking of Vetter?Would it be the same on a '96?And where was it located?Anyone else dealt with this issue before?:confused

It is the actuator that controls hot and cold in the duct work.
