To check my temp gauge on my 75 can I ground it to the block and hope for movement? The reason I'm asking is the 75 seems to have differnt type of gauges as other years check the suppliers most have listings for all years but 75 some kinda void there

If you ground the sender wire to the engine, the gauge should peg to "hot"; if you just disconnect it, the gauge should peg to "cold".

Where is your sending unit located? Is it on the manifold or in the side of the head?

I want to locate mine on the side in the head (passenger side). Do you know what the resistance is supposed to be for my gauge?

Mine's on driver side the other question I'm not sure. what part of La. you in?

Most senders will show 600-700 ohms from the center terminal to ground at room temperature.

Thanks John. Is there a particular year that had the sending unit on the side of the head? I just wanna walk into AutoZone and tell them I need a (?) year sending unit for a corvette. It is for a single wire system.

Joe, I am in baton Rouge. What about you?

Centerville West of Morgan City,My 75 screws into drivers side head.

Just tell them you want a Wells TU-5 ($5.00); that's as close as you're going to find.
