My 85' has been running hotter than usual lately (210 to 215), granted its phoenix in the summer but norm is about 190 and I run water wetter also. But let it idle today the aux fan in front kicked on at 175, but the main fan did not. Just wondering what temp it should kick on at or is it just not working.
Thanx
Gordon

The main thermo controlled fan is programed to come on at 228 degrees!! 210-215 is about right!! You don't have a problem!!:upthumbs

Thanx, just puzzled as to why it would start running hotter even after adding the water wetter, even when it was 110 degress or higher here it would not run over 195.

Could be allot of things I guess Barometric Pressure a can effect it some.Maybe it's got some bugs and debrie in the Radiator!! C4's and C5's are like a Parking Lot vacuum!!!!;LOLBut all jokes aside I trade these cars around allot and that is about the normal!! :upthumbs But not all are quite the same,So check your Radiator for debrie!!!I suppose the thermostat could be going bad!!It should have a 195 deg in it but that don't mean it will run Exactly at 195 deg!! Also not 2 temperature sensors are alike either, have you changed the temperature sensor recently??:upthumbs

on my 86, the fan in front of radiator comes on when a/c is used only. although I can't find the electrical diagram in my factory service manual anywhere, about this fan

Radiator is only 1 year old, its a heavy duty one I put in, not sure about when sensor was replaced

Wiat is a "Two row Radiator" and 'Single row Radiator" ?

Well do they have stuff in them?? Thin one is the A/C Condenser the 2 row is the radiator!!Sometimes you need to clean out the Rats Nests!!;LOLThis is out of my C5 Radiator Duct after about 6 weeks of Fall here in the Mountains!! :upthumbs

reason for asking is that Mid America has a dual fan assembly but asks if two row or single row.

Sorry,I guess I didn't understand your ?? A Single row will only have a single row of reed tubes in it running from Tank to Tank!! A 2 row will have 2 rows of Reed Tubes running Tank to Tank!!! A 3 row will have 3 row's of Reed Tubes!!! I'll see if I can take a Photo of some I've replaced in cars when the sun comes up later today!! :upthumbs
