Test drive: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Does the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray finally meet world-class competition, such as the iconic Porsche 911, on a level playing field? We jumped into the driver’s seat to find out, once and for all, if G.M. has a sports car that meets the hype and expectation heaped onto the latest C7 Corvette.
By Nick Kurczewski / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
It might sound sacrilegious, but the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is not the most important vehicle in the Chevy lineup. In terms of market share and sales volumes, it’s not even close.
When it comes to brand image, however, it has been the Corvette’s role to stand center-stage, as proof that Chevrolet can build a world-class sports car. Except for many years, and for a variety of reasons, the Corvette has lacked the polish and refinement associated with its competition – most notably, the rear-engine Porsche 911.

For anyone pressed for time, here is the short answer: the all-new Corvette Stingray is very, very good!
