I just finished the Waco coverage in The Restorer. Looked to be an awesome meet. Congrats on a fantastic show. I would love to be able to go this year.

NO relevent C3's

I went to the Waco Regional Meet in '03, and I was disappointed and surprised at the paucity of Corvettes at the meet. In fact, there were no Corvettes from 1973 through 1977 at the meet. It was mostly C1's and C2's being displayed by people who didn't know anything about their cars and had someone else do their work for them. I'm in the process of restoring my '77 L-82 myself. The chassis and the engine/drivetrain is a work of art and I'd hate to put the body back on the frame, but I've got to do it so I can get this girl painted and finish the restoration. Hey, these cars were meant to be DRIVEN, not just rot away as a garage queen.

I understand your point Bizzy. There is no doubt that there are far more people today with the money to buy that car they wanted in their younger days than ever before. Some buy a finished car and others pay someone to restore it for them. The up side of that is that a car gets restored and if the owner doesn't have the talent or knowhow to do it himself then it's better left to a pro. The downside is that most of them lack Corvette knowledge but most want to learn and that's what the NCRS is about.

Looking through the Regional and Chapter show results in the back of The Restorer I see a major lack of '73-'77 cars at all of the shows. Waco had one each from the years '73-'77 (2 Top Flight and 2 2nd Flight) this year but the other shows only had a few among the whole bunch. That has to be disheartening when you travel to a show and the cars of your interest aren't there. I hope that you drive yours to a few shows when it's done to show these folks what they are missing by not taking more interest in the mid seventies cars.

In the meantime..Got any pics of that chassis?
