The debate on which to use is well documented in these forums and the consenses is, either is fine. I am leaning toward the 200 for ease if installation in replacing the th350. the 79 still has the th 400 mounting holes in the crossmember and there will be no issue of having the driveshaft cut. my one issue is the exhaust to trans pan clearance. I have converted to stainless duals and where the pipes are bent up and in to go through the original cross member. there appears to be potential clearance problems because of the longer pan on the th200. Because of the large square pan on the 700 another crossmember with relocated exhaust openings will be required. If I have to fabricate/purchase a new crossmember for the 200 installation, I may just go with a 700. I checked locally and it was only $65 to shorten the driveshaft. I know there are many of you who have done this conversion and I need your help with what you encountered with this area. Thanks!!!!
