hey now, be nice......... afterall, I do have my own timing light now! ;LOL

Don't you mind these guys teasing you like that. Us serious guys can stick together Barry. By the way I'm curious when you first got your timing light...did you calibrate the timing to eastern, central or mountain time before you used it?;) ;LOL

Really Barry, no matter how much help you get remember to watch and learn every minute and ask all those questions you're thinking. It's the only way to learn..hands on and good for you that you're definately willing to try. You know through all the joking we do together that it's all in fun with your good nature and as soon as you have a question everyone lines up to answer and help you. Have fun doing all this stuff this fall and winter, ENJOY IT! We are all here with you buddy and we are all looking over your shoulder and smiling along with you.:upthumbs

Best of all you can give it as good as you get it too!:D That's why we're all so close.
PS: Has Linda started driving BABY yet?

Doug
yes, I know it's just teasing - just sometimes because of my utter and complete lack of experience working on my car it hits home a little harder than i'd like but I can take it. :)

In about two weeks a bunch of us are getting our cars worked on by Lars and the best part will be watching and learning (not to mention maybe actually getting Baby running 100% correctly for the first time since i bought her!)

Nope Linda has NOT started driving Baby yet and she won't until she learns how to drive a manual tranny - and by learning i mean learning on ANOTHER car first! Baby's poor clutch took enough abuse in a parade I was in earlier this week for our Labor Day holiday, I don't know how much more abuse it can take this year ;LOL

Barry,

I can't wait for your air-con install thread. That oughtta help get us through those long winter nights. ;LOL

(just a little joke, my friend ;) )

Yeah....I'm inviting some of my Vette club friends over and pumping my puter output into my 58 " HDTV Monitor input. I'll have cheese steaks and hoggies....and of course beer and soda.

All I have to due is hit the refresh botton every 2 min to see the next Barry K ..V/A Install Post. I do have to order some cot's for the sleep over as these posts could go on all night........:L

Mark
if you will be watching on the bigscreen, than at least record the show for me so I can enjoy afterwards...... oh wait, I won't have time to watch it as I'll be out driving in my A/C cool car! :D

Oh, Boy!!! This is going to be fun......;LOL

I'll let Barry do all the typing and photographing. Then you guys can bust on him rather than me. Should be an "interesting" winter project.

Barry will be doing some wrenching also. It's his system and he may as well know how it went together. Gonna be a bit humorous watching him try to squeeze himself under the dash..... I know I'll be having fun. :D

oh yeah Paul, it's going to be a real hoot! ;LOL

btw, I've already learned the hard way just from replacing the rear blower control cable that if I need to get under the dash the seat are coming out - no question about that. I'm NOT trying to squeeze myself under there again with the seats in.

Barry,

All kidding aside, if you remove the seats, and take the time to lay a few well placed blankets in the floor depressions, laying flat on your back, will become rather confortable.

Don't forget your video/camera cellphone to catch those "Candid" unexpected moments! Have fun guys.

Bob

I'm not sure I buy the "comfortable" part, but at least it will be bearable. the seats were in when I removed the rear blower control cable but still out when I reinstalled it and what a difference it made in working under the dash.
Since we will need to be under there to route the ductwork, etc than the seats will probably be my first job - to remove them! :)

Doug
if Linda has her say i'm sure she will want to set up both video cameras to capture all the experience but I have a feeling we will end up having to edit out or 'bleep" large portions of the audio during the times I get a bit frustrated at something not working out correctly for me. ;LOL

Man, did this thread ever get sidetracked. It started as a simple Thank You to Bob for a bracket!
well, just typical for one of my threads................ ;LOL

Barry - as I am sure you will keep us up to date when the time approaches, post the date and, if available and you and Paul need an extra hand, maybe I can schedule a day to come down. I am not all that far. Paul and I worked together pretty well (didn't kill each other or anything) on VNV's tranny.

By the way, putting all the serious stuff aside, your posts are a hoot! They generate alot of discussion and good information always seems to result. Don't let everyone bust you too hard.

That's what makes these C1 & C2 section posts such fun reading. With you guys all knowing each other and the sense of humour you characters have it really adds a bit extra to even a technical reply...otherwise there would have been just two posts: Your thank you and Bob's you're welcome. Nice to have access to all this talent and have fun at the same time though isn't it Barry? Have a good day.:D

Steve, thanks for your very kind and generous offer. When Paul and I decide when the best weekend date is I'll post it up to let you know. If you can make it for a day than great. :)
I didn't know Paul came down and helped on Mark's tranny. I guess he just loves traveling south to work on cars ;LOL

Doug, yep, it does make interesting fun and reading at times - especially when Bob (Heaven) and Mark start going at each other ;LOL sometimes this place is better than watching an Abbott and Costello movie (or the Three Stogies??) :D
