A great friend. He stopped by today and wired up relays for the headlights on my '66. By the time he finished re-wrapping the engine bay harness, it looked like it was done by the factory. Amazing. All he asked for a was a Coke.

Now, he just called and said he was on the way back here because I really need an inline fuse. I told him not to worry, I'll splice one in myself, good point.

Can't stop him, he's on his way over.

You meet very few people like him in life, let alone this hobby.

Thanks, Mark :w

Its not his fault,

Its a sickness. He has to make it bigger, better, stronger, safer, faster, more improved,

We are lucky to have a person like Mark (along with others) that are too happy to share there knowledge and experience , and tecnical skills with us

Hey, VNV..

Just scored a big purchase from Mark at MAD Electronics and I bought two of his alternator wiring kits. He talks about having to add a fuse to the "Ammeter" (which I know is not really an Ammeter but a shunt device), so when I get his instructions, I'll need you to stop by OCNJ for beer and wings/hoagies to interpret what he's saying.

This time, I'll be doing the wiring (dual relays for the headlights and the new alternator wiring) in the central part of the state by myself, so you can just watch the mushroom cloud grow just to the north of EHT.

Be good and have a safe trip.

572, huh?

No ..I'm on a quest .....Kid was thinking of doing a Blow project on his SB Vert. I suggested he do a nice mild streetable pump gas friendly 620HP 572.

He is slowly coming around and the wheels are turning trying to put together all the brain cells Necessary to Freak out Mrs..Kid when he tells her ......

Aaaah Hun.....I think I'm going to replace my motor in the Vert.....:L

He's in stage 1 Now..... Drool..is seeping from the side of his mouth and instead of hearing bells.... he's hearing side pipes lobeing....

well than, if he's already drooling than it's a done deal. Might as well not waste anymore time, just call up and order the d*mn thing and get it over with.
I'm sure Bill may have some suggestions on how to get even more pwoer out of that motor.

On the other hand......... if he is considering the 572, why not go all out and get this: http://www.shafiroff.com/ultrastreet/632_900_bd.asp

it's just a basic nice streetable 900hp 845 ft/lbs. That should give his car a little more get-up-and-go. :D

well, since i was thinking about buying a blower ANYWAY....hmmmm

but IF i were to do that, i would go with a roots-type blower and that hood keeps getting taller and taller ;squint:

Here's the '67 with the GM 572/620hp crate motor in it that Jerry Clark's building as our magazine project car for Carlisle this year - just fired it for the first time about ten days ago - VERY nasty! :D

Has a big Tremec behind it, all stainless headers and sidepipes, coil-overs all the way around, tubular front control arms, offset trailing arms, Goodyear Eagle F1 meats, carbon fiber driveshaft and half-shafts, etc.

Got to talking' to my buddy behind the Chevy parts at Ontario Motor Sales today.- He tells me that I can own a 572-720R 'full-race' version for under $18,000 Canadian.

If I tow a fuel trailer with av-gas to feed that 12:1 monster.......hmmmmmmmmm. :gap

720 h.p. @ 6250 RPM Torque - 685 Ft. Lbs. @ 4500 RPM Max. Recommended RPM-6750 RPM Compression Ratio-12:1

If it weren't for that tall block. ;)
