Hello everyone!
Been a member for a short while - just laying in the weeds and looking for info for my balky '92. I want to thank everyone for the very useful discussions on where to buy an "real" Optispark - bought a refurb from AutoZone in October 2001 and tried to reuse the cap and rotor (never again!!). Did the venting mod - late last year the car started throwing infamous Code 16 - of course, since I modded the Opti the warranty from AutoZone was no good!
Finally getting smart, decided to go OEM - just got my package from Jason Cromer @ Sam Taylor Buick in Florida - AC-Delco unit for $280 (complete with cap and rotor) plus $8 shipping UPS delivered to me - can't beat that!
Thanks again! Now gotta wait for the ground to form up from the thaw (frozen Wisconsin you know) so I can get the car out from where I've got it stored!
