Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

The coolest thing happened tonight!

I'm still trying to find this issue somewhere!

Chris, as I've said quite a few times already, you now have the most awesome Shark I've ever seen (and probably ever will see)!

Steve wanted me to ask you if you've gotten the nitrous kit yet that Nikki OK'd at Sharkfest... :D

I have not played that card yet! Although, you and several others witnessed the very words she spoke as she was having a blonde moment. She has no idea exactly how bad of a mistake that was giving me "permission" for that future mod!

If you remember, I had not done any tuning at all on the EFI system other than making sure it would run, idle, and go down the road when we made that dyno run. Since then, I have played with it and learned that I had a extreme lean condition from 2,500 RPM up. The dyno numbers for my car were off the chart at only 2,500, indicating approx 360 hp on the flywheel at ONLY 2,500 and approx 483 foot pound of torque at the FLYWHEEL (given a 18% drive train loss) at the same 2,500 RPM. It then trickled downhill to red line.

So, I go back to the drawing board and rack up a bunch more miles on the car. I ended up adding nearly 60% more fuel to the RPM range from that point up (specifically at wide open throttle). When we were in BG at the show, I did not even realize I could make andy changes to wide open throttle, and had only tweaked my idle and cruise settings. The car felt awesome before, but now when I nail it, you better be hanging on, and I hope you have made peace with your maker ahead of time, because it is a blurrrrrrrr until the car tops out at 125 mph. I have yet to go back to the dyno, but already know that there is a whole different car living and breathing in there now with some tweaks to the EFI. So, I also say all this to actually admit that the thought of putting some go juice on has not really crossed my mind (but don't tell her that).

So, Chris, I take it you are totally sold on the EFI setup you have over a carb?

Hey Chris

Thats sounds absolutley AWESOME. I knew that beast had a WHOLE LOT more left in her.

Chris does that system come with wideband O2 sensors or O2 sensors at all?

Get that beast on a dyno and see what she's putting out!! It would be a good time to check if everything is O.K. on the A/F readings to.

Have you thought about buying the JCL spiral baffels?

Frank

Hijinx, I am totally sold on EFI.

SScam, it does have a three wire O2 in the right exhaust system. When the control module is in, it will flash a red or green or amber light to indicate the a/f reading. It also has a readout to track it. A seperate dedicated stand alone wide band would be nice for total tuning.

At the end of the day, would you stick with the Edelbrock setup or go with some other EFI setup?

due to limited options on the big block, and the fact that I am more after all around driveability and street performance...plus, I don't want to toat a lap top around with me, (what a run on sentence!) I would stick with the Edelbrock.

It certainly is a Beautiful car!! By the way are you familiar with Merlin's car??

I have been following Merlin for a long time. His car is the ultimate in C3 excess, power, shine, technology, etc. etc. In fact, he and I corresponded quite a bit for a while and he was helpful to me looking at different rim offsets and we both had the same idea on the roll bar about the same time.

The really weird thing is we both fired our motors for the first time within days of each other!

There was a poll over at Corvette Forum where somebody wanted to know who had the hottest black shark. I think it was me, Merlin, 1Bad69, Lasse, and maybe one other. Well, I got my clock cleaned by 1bad69 and Merlin!!!!!!! So, you can't win them all.

Well If you spend 250,000 dollars on a 74 vette...........You better have one Bad MOFO is all I can say.....I really love them all though I am not biased. Lasse's car is by the far the coolest C-3 in all of Europe without a doubt. That car is smooth

So what month issue Killer appears in Vette Magazine???

It is the March 03 issue, but it is on the shelves now (if you can fine a place that sells Vette). Several people have mentioned a hard time finding places that sell it.

Thanks Chris!

I went to a couple of places that carry allot of magazines, but they didn't have the new issue yet.

I thought that I was right about the magazine name, but I wanted to double-check again. I'll see again today if they have finally arrived.

As your handle says, it's a 69 your way. You don't have to.
