The whole town, huh? Does that mean I have to be on my best behavior? D-oh!!

He stored a SWC for 20 years? Wow... unless it was in a barn... Is he gonna restore it or rebuild it or try to follow in your footsteps??

What does your dad think of the car?

-Mac

My dad thinks I'm crazy. My dad-in-law can't wait for a ride. :D

My new friend's plans for the SWC? Sounds like it's going to be a nice driver, I think?!?

Whenever we go back to Trenton to visit we usually cut it short, too much traffic, I laugh at all the big SUV's that have never seen mud. Its like a 24 hour rush hour, I wonder if some of those people have homes or just ride around all the time.:L

Vancouver is getting that way. They should have invested in highway infrastructure construction back in the 80's and 90's but nothing major has been added since the 70's. In the meantime, the population has more than doubled. Nowadays, the enviro-nazis scream everytime someone cuts down a tree, the price of real estate grew expotentially and the political will for spending money (ie: raising taxes) isn't there. The anti-car types oppose any kind of highway improvements because they figure the current highway system would be sufficient if everyone would just ride the bus!

The only saving grace is the various levels of government are cooperating because the 2010 Olympics are coming here and the number one issue identified by the International Olympic Committee is transportation. As a result, a number of major construction projects have already started, including massive improvements to the Sea-to-Sky Highway which runs between Whistler and Vancouver. They're preparing to break ground for a new bridge crossing the Frazer River and they're making plans to twin one of the existing bridges.

Well Mac..The area I'm living in is ruled by this "You do what we tell you" State Agencey..called the New Jersey Pine Lands Commission. They have instructed our towbship to open up our tree covered land to developers and let them build houses. This started several years ago and now the township is blotted with little boxes on the hillside in large clumps called ..Tree Grove Run( Not one tree in the development)... And Blah..Blah..Path and so on. Most of our roads are 2 lane black top. There is so much traffic at rush hour that it some tines takes me 2 to 3 min to get out of my Drive way. The schools are so over crowed that for the last 3 years they have had 40 foot trailers in the school parking lots converted to class rooms to handle the overflow. The Commission and the state wouldn't give us any money towards new school construction.

So for the last few years we have been getting hit with large property tax increases. The new school has been completed and still more land has been approved for development. So more people have been moving in. Property Values have shot thru the roof. It's a sellers market here. We can't make the roads any wider then they are..so all they can do is add more traffic lights.

Cautch 22....:(

I just got home from 2 days in Sarnia and surrounding area. I wish I could visit the other end of Ontario next week with Craig (and with 14 less wheels) but it's not to be.

How many hours left??

roughly 16 or so see you then, just packing the Vette then early to bed early to rise and on the road at 4 am.

Mac,

I hope you enjoy your visit to the east of the Rockies side, and as always if you pass through the country of q_ebec, please let me know so we can get together!

Say hi to Brian and Jane if they're part of the festivities. Jane was kind enough to send me copies of the 'Jet Vette' photographs she took when it was at my office a few years back.

Mike,

We will be there! How can we resist the sound of open headers on a crisp fall day:D Besides, Bob lives so close that we would hear it anyway:cool

I'm gonna be at NEB's (North end bowl) around that time and would love to drop in to say hi and get a peek at 67.

Just need directions.
