The price of friendship?

A buddy at work bought his wife an '81 vette this past summer. It has 26,000 miles on it and is in very very good condition.

This is his story from the naked city: His wife left the car outside for the day. When she left it she used the power locks to lock the car, the passenger side didn't lock. A friend of his came over and thought they left it out for him to clean, apparently the friend cleans all his cars. When the friend opened the passenger door the alarm went off. He gets a wrench and disconnects the battery...no more alarm. He waits about five minutes and reconnects the battery. Now neither the alarm nor the horn work. They have checked all the stupid stuff, fuses, connections and various locking sequences to no avail.

Anyone have a suggestion? I am hoping that you do and that it correlates to my problem...my horn and alarm don't work and I have already replaced the horn switch at the steering wheel.

Thanks,
