The Rev Limiter Works...

A little episode last night tested this feature and probably saved the motor. Accidental downshift to 2 auto at the wrong time. I was holding onto anythig I could find. It happened to be the stick. Yikes!

The rev limiter will save you when you are accelerating and increasing the rpms by feeding it gasoline, but no rev limiter in the world is going to save the engine if you over-rev it by downshifting too soon. The rear wheels are going to continue to try and drive the engine rpms upward. You can still break something.

I powershifted my six-speed (1-2-3) at the drag strip and when I went to grab 4th, I inadvertently brought it towards me and therefore hit second gear again instead of 4th, and I was cranking around 6500 rpm at the time. Luckily, it seemed to have survived with no damage (I was pretty quick with the clutch ).

Armor...in case the clutch or flywheel wants to self distruct...It will save (literally) your azz. Blowproof bell-housing

It's the mask that Anthony Hopkins wore in Silence of the Lambs. I'm happy to report that the rock solid tranny and LT-1 survived with no ill effects. There is no carbon in the combustion areas now.

I apologized for the abuse with new chrome lug nut covers; like buying flowers the day after coming home at 3:30 AM less than sober. Any car owned previously would have been on a wrecker.

What brand of rev limiter did you use and where the heck did you mount it
