Corvette
2008 vert 6M silver
News release MIGHT say :Gm with it's financial problems has merged with KIA as of 1/16/2013 .Models that will no longer be in production Buick,Saturn ,Pontiac and the Chevrolet Corvette.

Now most of us would be a little shocked. The question is what would you do ?

I would cherish the one I already own.
Wait, i already do that...

What would I do? I would buy up as many new Corvettes as my projected finances would allow, which at my current rate would be about none.

s'noJob

If that truly was the case, I’d ponder holding off on some of the work I’m doing to my home and see what kind of C6 vert I could get in to. The house can wait!

Y'all remind me of kids sitting around a campfire telling ghost stories to scare yourselves.

I'd wake up, splash some water on my face, grab a cup of coffee, and read the morning paper secure in the knowledge that what I had just dreamed about will NEVER happen. :chuckle

The Corvette an orphan? NEVER! How could GM give up a model that they use to justify R&D for the entire corporation? Given the currect MSRP of a Corvette, GM must have a very good profit margin?

What?

I'd say, thanks a lot labor unions!

i drive a kia sportage to work everyday so i can afford the gas 4 the vette LOL:L

Say it aint true, Babe

I'd say this is a bull **** thread.

If you actually knew *anything* about business news, you'd know that Kia may be in worse shape than GM.

"Automotive News" (which you should read if you want to actually know stuff about the automotive industry) reports that after hiring and firig a series of reasoned, rational and experienced executives Kia America's new CEO, Byung Mo Ahn, promised dealers things would get better, by a lot. This guy first told his dealer network they must move 450,000 units in 2008 - 47 percent more than in 2007, when Kia sales rose only 3.8%. In a business with plenty of nut cases, the Koreans lead the . Kia dealers are going to bail en-mass, because they can take just so much foolishness.

Bottom line....if anything, it might be GM buying Kia, but my guess is Kia will be gone from the U.S. market before 2013.

I sure hope so Hib!

The "barking" radio ads from Kia is the reason I renewed XM.

First i'd like to explain the tread is not about Kia ,other than it was a tongue in cheek example .I could have used BWM or Toyota but all that is immaterial.

The point is GM lost 38.7 billion in 2007 .According to the last Standards & poors I read GM has a negitive net worth in the order of minus 16 billion .

This only brings to the front that at some .point if this tread continues It's possible that a Merger or aquisition by someone may occur.

I can Assure you that I have a faint knowlege of business.

Now what the intent of the thread was If GM eliminates the Corvette at the end of the C-6 run What would your reaction be ?

I'd like to thank you ,after almost 2000 meaning-less posts i've been flamed over something that intended to be purely hypothetical.

So this tread doesn't get into a pizzin' contest I'll request this tread be locked.
