67 Heavens Headers are to big to do this....

Got my new Sanderson Coated Headers today and I need storage as I am amassing parts for the 502 BB Project.

I think they look neat sitting in the China Cabinet..... Got no Wife to yell at me.
;LOL

Who was it now ? - Someone was using engine blocks as coffee tables. :L

Now THAT'S Funny

I think that's great;LOL ;LOL

;LOL My wife limits me to 3 diecast cars on ours, and the only resaon she allows that many is I told her I would have to buy another display case and put it up in the living room ;)

This wife doesn't mind Corvette parts in her house! ;)
When we were rebuilding the 78's engine this year I stored the hood in the Master Bedroom so I could brush my hand along it as I went through the doorway. We had to pull the engine twice before we got everything the way we wanted it, and the second time, the hood was stored in the hallway.
I had thoughts about mounting it on the wall over the fireplace...but Kenny got everything put back together quickly and the hood went back on the 78.

Good Thing.........

Mark are those the block huggers? they look like the same ones I got for my 62.They really are a nice product and the comapny Sanderson was a pure pleasure to deal with. you may have problems if you are using them for the start up of the new motor they had pre warned me about ruining the finish of the headers if use on a new engine start up.

I am just picturing those headers on my 66 and wonder if there is enough room to get by the center crossmember and the Z bar. When they say block huggers they mean they are tight to the block.

The header's that I bought from Sandeson..pictured.. Are made for the 502 BB with Alum heads and designed for the Midyear Corvette and fit with no problems. You may ask....Prey tell...how did I know to get these Headers??? ..Well The Master of the Secret Red Paint..."Rich Laggse" (Richscorvettes) Is using the same header on his 67 BB 502 car. He recomended this header as it was designed for him by Sanderson when he Fabbed his 67 back in the day....... So...What Me Worry..???? Nahh.

It should also work on your car...I think you just have to ask for the iron head version.

Jamie At Sanderson told me that with a new GM Crate 502 that there should be no issue of burning the headers at first fire off. This is due to the fact that the GM Crates should run clean and correct with a rough setting on the Carb and Timing.

That dissclaimer he puts in his lit is for the Brand X Ebay motor's built by Bubba.

He explained that if I burn the header... He will re-do it at no charge. This is a one time offer .....Sanderson stands behind there product. That's why they have a good rep.:beer

Mark

I dealt with the same fellow.I explained what I was doing and said Ultimatly I wanted the ceramic coated header but was afraid I had to "tweak" the headers around my a arm. He said he thinks he has a set that will fit,He will send them to me.If I had to "tweak" them and I damaged the finish.I should send them back after "tweaking" them and he would refinish them or send me a different set to try out. After speaking to this fellow it was clear that gaurenteed he was going get me in a set of ceramic coated header.I ordered the headers from them not even asking what the price was,I got them and had to slightly "Tweek" them and the finish held up perfectly!

Real Class act.I highly recomend them.It was like I was dealing with a family member or a close freind who just reassured me no matter what they had my problems solved and I should not worry.

Mark - They look great in there. I have 99% if my corvette parts in the closet in my office. They are safe there. It is full floor to ceiling. Sharon does not look fondly on corvette parts distributed throughout the house. This post kind of brings back memories and makes me chuckle. I played in a band in my younger days -- Sharon was not real fond of that either and would go out of her way to run the sweeper smack dab into the instruments. :)
