Things Your Wife Won't Let You Do With Corvette Parts..Not Even 67 Heavens

This wife doesn't mind Corvette parts in her house! ;)
When we were rebuilding the 78's engine this year I stored the hood in the Master Bedroom so I could brush my hand along it as I went through the doorway. We had to pull the engine twice before we got everything the way we wanted it, and the second time, the hood was stored in the hallway.
I had thoughts about mounting it on the wall over the fireplace

Any Chance you have a Sister? :cool

Mark and Larry,

Glad you are getting good service from Sanderson. Their attitude speaks volumes about their product. When I was looking for a set for the 502 they didn't have them but were the only ones who were willing to make them up to fit the aluminum heads. The others I called were only interested in selling what they had in their catalog. I really liked the Sanderson's fit and quality. They went in with no problem and have never leaked. I did use the "Stage 8" header bolts which have worked well also.

Heh Rich,
Not familiar with the stage 8 header bolts. The headers came with special "cap Type" black anodized bolts. Could these be the bolts your speaking about?

Mark, the Stage 8 units are a grade 8 bolt which have a retainer and snap lock. The retainer goes against the primary tube and keeps it from turning. Summit Racing has them for one source.

There is also another style from Breslin which is a split lock type fastener. I haven't tried that type though. Summit also carries these.

Hope that helps.

Anyone have a phone # or a site address for Sanderson?

Thanks

Get the Zoomies. They would look killer sticking out from under the rocker panels.

As I Said Earlier.........

I lost my shop and lift rights after the engine build due to my friend selling his business. The major reason I never put the finishing touch on with the headers is nobody makes them for a 62 with Trick Flow heads. The angle of the spark plugs will require alterations of anything that would normally fit and without a lift, I've put it on the back burner all this time. What it boils down to is buying a set of headers uncoated, having someone make the spark plug allowance alterations and then having them coated which I would most likely use the Jet Hot system. Time, access to a lift has out weighed the need for them but with the engine work done I really do need them tuned to get the air out as well as it comes in. I was hoping I could find a manufacterer that could make them to fit and only have to do it once. I'll have to give them a call, but they're probably going to need me to give them precise measurements in order to custom build them and I'm not sure I want to do that. There's also other issues, ground clearance etc. I have to consider. If I had the $, I'd drop it off somewhere and say "Call me when it's done"........yeah, right, $1500 or more.
So Mark. that's why I wanna stick them thar Had-dars on.
Tom, I presume you're talking about side pipes with the Zoomies, I'd love to, it would be sweet and take care of the ground clearance issue, but again, aside from what BroKen believes, there is a limit to how much $$$ I have.:(

Well..........

Contrary to what someone living at the same address thinks, NO!!!:mad ;LOL

If they are minor tweeks speak to the people at sanderson.Tell them what you want.

They offered to even send me a set of naked headers for me to tweak and then send them back to them and they would coat them.

Call them you will be plesantly suprised at how helpfull and sincere they are in wanting to please a customer.

This same woman has put up with me for 36 years.:D Nothing in the china closet (yet) but the diecasts are on the mantle in the "living" room and elsewhere.
