When we were rebuilding the 78's engine this year I stored the hood in the Master Bedroom so I could brush my hand along it as I went through the doorway. We had to pull the engine twice before we got everything the way we wanted it, and the second time, the hood was stored in the hallway.
I had thoughts about mounting it on the wall over the fireplace

Glad you are getting good service from Sanderson. Their attitude speaks volumes about their product. When I was looking for a set for the 502 they didn't have them but were the only ones who were willing to make them up to fit the aluminum heads. The others I called were only interested in selling what they had in their catalog. I really liked the Sanderson's fit and quality. They went in with no problem and have never leaked. I did use the "Stage 8" header bolts which have worked well also.

Mark, the Stage 8 units are a grade 8 bolt which have a retainer and snap lock. The retainer goes against the primary tube and keeps it from turning. Summit Racing has them for one source.Viet Nam Vett said:Heh Rich,
Not familiar with the stage 8 header bolts. The headers came with special "cap Type" black anodized bolts. Could these be the bolts your speaking about?

There is also another style from Breslin which is a split lock type fastener. I haven't tried that type though. Summit also carries these.
Hope that helps.

Gotta 327 block, heads, intake and crank from our 65 bagged in our spare bedroom next to the sewing machine. I did have that coffee table idea mentioned above but passed on that one.![]()
