The day went great and the reception was wonderful! Nice gifts/awards and had all my great co-workers around! Even had a couple old bosses stop by for good measure!
After the reception was over, I took a friend, who is a couple decades younger than I am, for a ride. He had hinted earlier that he'd like a ride. Took him out to show him what a C6 could do, then pulled over and told him that I hope he could get me back to work! He absolutely loved driving it! I made him get on it a bit, too. Then I snagged another friend, 40+ year old woman. and made her get in for a picture to show her two teenage boys! She loved the idea: I knew she would. (Another co-worker, my age, showed up, interrupted us and wanted a picture of him in the car, too!) After that, got the lady back into the car and had her drive me around so she could tell her boys about it. She had more fun than you can imagine. Her first Corvette drive and ride at the same time! I traded spots with her to drive back and let her feel what it could do. She just giggled like a teenager herself and said it was like the rides at 6 Flags and no wonder I love it!!
All in all, a pretty good day!! Oh yeah, the party's tomorrow night!!
