Throttle body differences for 4+3?

I just read an odd post on another Vette forum regarding throttle bodies for auto vs 4+3 L98's. One poster claimed that there is an extra cable mounted to a 4+3's throttle body (for kickdown, IIRC). Is this true? First I'd heard of it - I thought the ECU controlled kickdown. Since I'm in the market for a TB, this has me curious.

The earlier C4s had 'em Rich.

1984-88 manual shift Corvettes came through with the Doug Nash 4+3 overdrive transmission. The ’84 and ’85 units were almost identical, with the only difference being a slightly revised oil pump to reduce some of the whining noise. The ’86-’88 trannys also are very similar to the early units with the major difference being lack of a TV (throttle valve) adjustment.

Ken, thanks. I assume that means the throttle valve adjustment is somehow connected to the throttle body on the intake?

As the cars evolved and the ECMs had more speed and computing power, more functions were controlled by them, than by separate systems.

The kickdown cable attaches to the throttle linkage and runs back down to the Nash O/D, on the driver side, I believe.
