should i replace the throttle body inlet hose...wich is now the ribbed original type...with a smooth type?.

will this increase air flow..wich according to mid america , increase hp by 2-5 hp.

i have the open air element and i though by smoothing the air out even more this would make my entire air intake system even better.

Caveat emptor! "Let the buyer beware." ;)

I don't put much faith in their claims, the $40 (US) can be put to better use. :eyerole

Of course, that's just my humble opinion, but I gave one of those tubes away not too long ago.

i was actually going to get a piece that would fit from a hardware store....price $3.00 [canadian]...or 22 cents us! :L

my question is, is smoother intake air better for the engine?

It sorta makes sense that it should be, but when on the dyno, I actually discovered no difference in hp numbers with my dummy MAF and accordion pleated inlet tube in place, or with everything totally removed. Not enough of a difference to bother with in my eyes.
