Question: throttle body spacers ! Do they really do anything ?

I recently bought a throttle body spacer for the 89, and a few guys I know have told me their worthless, which seems a little one sided. Since it isn't installed yet, but I was interested in your opinions. What say you !

I wouldn't call them worthless. I would say that people sometimes have the wrong expectations of what they do.

They basically increase the length of the plenum. In turn, you'll see a slight increase in low end... and potentially trade off a little high end... which falls off around 4500rpm anyways on TPI.

Racing? Ehhh... does very little. Everyday driving? Slight increase in low end torque.

The most optimistic of real world results would still be below the threshold to feel.

Throttlebody spacers

Throttlebody spacers only work on wet systems like Carburetors and TBI, PFI has no fuel in the runners and no atomizing is done. Just a plain waste of money on any Corvette 1985 and newer.
