Throttle Pressure?

My 84 auto transmission clunks in Drive (only) when slowing down (between 18mph and 14mph). Tranny rebuilt last year.

Some drunk guy at a bar mentioned something about the throttle pressure and that my transmission is known for that problem.

Was it the agave plant talking, or is he on to something?

Mine also makes a similar noise while it decelerates. You have to really be paying attention, and it only does it depending on the rate of which you are slowing down, or so it is in my case. I wouldn't be to worried about it. Just keep listening and see if it is making any other noises.

"Throttle pressure"?--a new term to me.

Have you checked the U-joints? Is there any vibration?

Mine does it also real bad .

Their is a trans shop out there that says they can cure the problem ,I will have to look up the link.
