Hello everybody.

Problem with my carb. Could not get it idle under 700 rpm (with the idle screw compleetly out). First idea, vacuum leak somewhere. So with a vacuum meter I checked my new vacuumlines. No problems there. Next I found was 1 bolt hole in the intake (right side beside the egr) had almost no thread in it. So bought a recoil set and recould the hole.

Next I found the throttle blades had more play inside the throttlebody then I thought. (I already rebuild this carb so put bushings in the throttle shaft openings.) These blades came from another body because I alsready knive edged these blades. Now I think maybe the original blades will fit this body better or is this normal?

Hello Tim,

Your absolutely right, why didn't I think of that.
But I had some time left yesterday so first I loosened up all the little screws and repositioned the blades. Now I lookes a lot better. While I was at it I replaced a edged blade for a normal one and I didn't see any improvement. So I'll test it again and see if it's doing any better. :)

Greetings Peter

I would think about maybe a touch of loctite on the screws too. Be a bummer to have one shake out. I've seen some carbs those screws were staked to prevent them from coming out.
