Takes 10 min & simple hand tools.
Pop off plastic knob release button - careful - pry around edges - no knife!
Vise grips on alum rivet pin, keep pulling straight up & wiggle - do not need to take this all the way off.
Wrap threads with teflon pipe tape, cover the middle section, not the very top or bottom of the threads - not necessary.
Try the knob, still loose, add more wraps of teflon tape.
When it's just a little tight to screw it on by hand you're there.
Screw it down, tap the rivet pin back down & put the plastic cap on.
No more buzz/loose.
Thanks to Oldman for emailing me the factory directions on shifter details ZF6.
Don't know if this works for automatics.
