About ready to install Corsa Touring (14112) and x-pipe (14131) on 2004 coupe. Any comments about this setup? Read one site that said touring not recommended for 01-04 due to the factory pre-cats which muffle the sound even further...???

Just looking to make car sound like a vette...Not wanting neighbors to hear me come home!

Graybird, first off WELCOME to CAC. I see you are from Kansas so a second welcome goes out to you from another Kansan. :w

Now as far as the touring system...I love Corsa I have the pace car on mine (no x pipe). It's very quiet until you 'get on it' and then she screams. I can't think that you'd go wrong with the touring setup, it's a bit quieter than the pace car. If you haven't bought it yet, you could easily get by with the pace car version too.

I wouldn't recommend the Touring for sound as they are about the same as OEM, I would only do it if you like the tips. There are better choices for "making your car sound like a vette", unfortunately to achieve that you may have to let the neighbors know when you are coming home.

Mine already had the Corsa Touring on it when I bought the car. Nice mix of quiet and roar. It is just right for me.

I agree that Corsa Touring is just a bit too quiet for me. I have Borla Stingers on both the '02 and the '05. The cars sound awesome!!

I put GHL Motorsports SS Bullseye catbacks on my 2004 about 30 days after I bought the car new. I reasoned that if that's what Ligenfelter used, then it was good enough for me. They give you a classic big block glass pack rumbling/growling sound at idle & low rpm and quieten down substantially in the 60-75 mph range. I think they are the best sounding catbacks at in the parking lot of any make and i have been very happy with them.

Utah Bill

While researching Corsa exhaust, I found "interesting" article on corvettefever.com. Utah has introduced bill to ban aftermarket exhaust systems.

I installed the Corsa Tiger Shark Touring version when my O4 was near new and didn't care too much for the backfire pops. I added an X pipe later which took care of the popping problem, along with the VeraRam intake (installed at the Denver CAC Cruisefest.. remember guys?). I love the combination and it made a huge difference in the sound. I wouldn't want it any louder for town use and it really comes on strong when you get on it. Almost scary but powerful roar. Plenty for me and I'm about 3/4 deaf. Sometimes it really isn't a good idea to draw too much attention.

For stock or near stock C5 coupes and convertibles, believe it or not, the exhaust I like best is the OE Z06 system. It's made of titanium, so there's a weight decrease. It offers a modest performance increase and a bit improvment in sound...louder, more authorative.

Better yet, there are a lot of those systems available for low cast as "take offs".

My 04 Z06 is the first car I've ever owned that I have not replaced the exhaust with aftermarket.

i have to chime in with b&b's bullets. i love em, but i must admit i dont have any other vettes around with corsa exhaust to compare mine to. i dont have the x pipe installed........yet. great sound when you get on it and nice and mellow at 55. if you go to the b&b web site they have 3 audio clips to listen to if you want to hear what they sound like

Hi and Welcome!
I have several friends that are running Corsa. Some have the touring , some pace car and a couple have the extreme. They ALL sound good-better than OEM but I like the Extreme system but then again I'm running the B&B Bullets with a Maganaflow X pipe on mine. Not for the "faint of heart" but I love the sound!

Running Corsa - Pace Car really like the sound!!:thumb

Long Tubes and Borla Stingers

Monster sound at any rpm level.
Remo:cool

I too have the bullets. People can hear you coming and going. The only thing I don't like is there is a lot of cabin noise below cruise. :cool

Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions!

Despite my original thought of going with Corsa Touring, I ended up putting on Corsa Xtreme with the X Pipe. Great deep sound when accelerating but quiet at highway speed.

Way to go! That reminds me of Carlisle two years ago.Several people from our club had Corsa systems installed down there and one fellow with an'08 coupe tried to decide all weekend. He finally decided to put the touring system on so 15 of us went over to the Corsa tent(for support) and he left with the Corsa extreme and he loved it! Hey, that's what friends are for!!
