Anybody ever put tire chains on a C4 in the winter? Is there enough clearence so they won't rub? This winter makes it tuff to drive the vette.

Somebody's getting a little desperate aren't we? :boogie

Buy a set of rims and snow tires.

Anything can be done, it just takes two things: (1) time, (2) money. If there is a will there is a way.

pony up and buy a slider. why destroy your vette with the salt, sinders and sand they throw all over the road.oh yeah an accident would really suck too.

Whats a slider?

I'm not sure that tire chains on a 'vette are such a good idea. Hang in there...spring is on it's way!

Beater Driver (import???)

Go buy a throw away winter beater with the money you save by putting a storage policy on your vette.I've been doing it for 30 years, and it makes owning a vette much cheaper. less gas less maintenance less insurance and bonus a nicer car with lower miles when you sell for more money!!!!!!

You only have a few inchs of clearance with the front air dam. If the snow is deep enough to warrant chains you'll end up plowing your way home. Corvettes are many things to many people, but they're not snow plows.

My experience with chains is that they don't RUB, a link comes loose and they rip a big chunk of fibreglass out before you can correct the problem.
