We discussed this once before but, i finally took my car to a shop so they can check out that service Tire pressure error thing that comes up.. They told me that it was the module that was bad and not one of the sensors. The module is like 900 dollars the sensor is less than 100... Its not a corvette shop so im just curious. If the module was bad wouldnt I get a different code in the PCM? I tried the relearn procedure and it didnt work. maybe the first tire sensor is the bad one.. I know you cant drive the car like this but im going to swap the front tires and try to reprogram. So my question is if the module is bad would I get a different error code? Also is there something I can do to trouble shoot this module?

Why are you not with a vette shop familur with the car?

The year of your car might help??? If it's a later model vette the module controls the 'low tire & the key-less entry' to the car. It's a dual function module. What is the year?

I am going on All Data right now. The price they quoted you for the module is too high.

There is also bulletin for late 97's and 98's for the module failing in cold weather.

Thr RETAIL price for the 97 & 98 corvette module is...

OEM Part Price
10422621 $282.39 then add close to 2 hours for install and programming so it should not cost more than a total of $450.

But like I said I need the year of your corvette.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry.. My car is a 97 auto. Keyless entry seems to be working ok. I left it at this shop b/c they specialize in corvettes but it seems they mostly work on older ones. I usually give everyone the benifit of the doubt so I'll let them work on it. I didnt have them fix the sensor issue though.. Is there anything I can do to see if it is in fact that part that is bad?

Better prices?

I had two rims changed at a Goodyear dealer, including the installation of the pressure sensors, $10.

Sensors can be had allot cheaper from Flow Chevrolet.

Module 10422621 is $160.96

Sensor numbers and prices as of 7-6-02
1997 - 2000 10438853 ($ 99.45 $140.87) $71.96 - $46.13 25731358

Don't forget to get a new seal.

Good luck

Tire Pressure sensors

On a closely related subject: What to do about tire pressure system that works consistently, but has 2 to 4 psi (low) error at all four wheels? Seems to be more error with colder weather. Is there a way to adjust calibration? Mine's a '99, but others may have seen before.
