i saw a 1988 vette with 255/50/16's on the back and 225/50/16's on the front. i loved the way it looked and would like to copy it..but, would a smaller size tire on the front affect the handling of the car? [ i dont usually drive fast]

No problem, but your ABS will be affected, possibly harmful to your health. ;)

Somewhere I read where if there is a difference in overall diameter of the wheel/tire of an inch or so, the ABS will no longer work properly. I cannot remember where it was I saw that now. :eyerole

I'm running 225s on the front on 17" rims, with 9" ET Streets on the rear on 16" rims, and the ABS will be conpromised, but that setup is only for the strip. My street setup is 285s all the way around on 17" rims. ;)
