275 40ZR17 Front 315 35ZR17 rear on my 96 Vette. The ones installed are run-flat and I would like to replace them. I am sure my choices are limited, but would appreciate any suggestions from fellow members. My driving style is aggressive, so would like fairly good traction, and if possible, reasonable tire life.

Thanks

Goodyear Eagle F1 D3!
They have great dry traction and are great in the rain, and they last a long time.
Tirerack has them for 234 and 323. Not the cheapest but they really do work well.
I have D3's on my CTS-V and have over 25K miles on the now.

I had Kumho Ecsta on my C4 and really liked their performance. They were very affordable too, which was a plus. I had run flats before the Kumhos, but I didn't like the stiff ride or the road noise.

Kumho just came out with a new Performance Summer Tire called the Ecsta XS, I will be putting them on my vette next spring. Car and Driver did a recent (last issue) tire shootout. These placed third only becasuse they aren't the greatest in the wet. But unless you plan on running a road course all out in the rain they are fine. They stick like no other performance tire avalible (other than drag radials), tread wear might stink as they only have a 180 rating but hey, they are sticky as glue in the dry.

I dont like my Goodyear GS-C tires they stink on ice, in my opinion. Not sticky enough...

Biggest problem is the 315/35, not many manufacturers are making that size. Goodyear, Sumitomo, Vreisden (spelling?), Nitto are about the only ones making that size. OK just did a search and found the Kuhmo XS is available in that size.

Thanks for the recommendations. Did some additional research and decided that the Good Years were my choice to replace my run flats. If they don't perform to my satisfaction, I'll try another brand, though as indicated, the choices are slim.

Thanks

Klaus
