Is it an advantage or OK to run 225 rubber on the front and 255 rubber on the rear of my '80? Like handle better or better gas mileage or? Now I have 255 on the front and rear and auto crossing the fronts were rubbing on the fender and I need a new set of tires for next year so I was wondering. Any suggestions or thoughts?

255R60-15s were optional for the 1980 models. I'm not certain whether the front finder lips were trimmed for clearance with the 255s.

My '80 had rally wheels that called for 225/70s while the '82 has aluminum wheels and 255/60s. I've run 255s on my '80 and '82 without problems. I think it also depends on if you have an OE wheel or not- the backspace can play into rub.

255 60 15's were optional with the Aluminum wheels and SHOULD NOT rub. Something is out of alignment on your car.
